Q. What is the definition of a laid off worker?

A. The grant that will fund this training opportunity states that "lay off" means an individual who has been terminated (laid off) through no fault of their own, has received a letter/notice of lay off from the employer and is eligible for or exhausted unemployment insurance.

Q. Are there other grant eligibility requirements that must be met to receive the funding?

A. Yes. The right to work in the United States must be documented by official state photo identification (driver's license and a social security card are acceptable documents). There are other grant qualifiers and they will be reviewed at the Information Session.
